Bible verses that give us comfort and encouragement

31 July, 2018

You may be going through a difficult situation. It is possible that pain and hopelessness have nestled in your heart and you are feeling drained of the strength to go on, without the courage to do even the simplest tasks.

Even the most emotionally strong people are affected by discouragement and discouragement at some point in their lives.

Sometimes it is simply that we lose the emotional strength to face a problem and sometimes it is that the situation seems so big that we think we cannot handle it.

In those moments of emotional loneliness and despair, the Word of God, the verses of the Bible, remind us that our way of seeing things is limited, that we can see them from God’s point of view. And to achieve this, there is nothing better than reading his word. That is why we have compiled some of the most encouraging and comforting texts from the Bible.

Isaiah 57:15

For this is what the High and Exalted One, who is residing forever and whose name is holy, has said: “It is on the height and in the holy place that I dwell, also with the crushed and lowly in spirit,+ to revive the spirit of those of lowly condition and to revive the heart of those who are being crushed.

Isaiah 41:10

Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Look not on every side, for I am your God. I will surely strengthen you. I will surely and truly help you. Yes, I will surely hold you fast with my right hand of righteousness’.

Psalm 34:18

Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Matthew 10:29-31

Two sparrows sell for a coin of small value, do they not? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. So have no fear; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Psalm 46:1-3

God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress.  That is why we will not fear, though the earth undergoes change, Though the mountains topple into the depths of the sea, Though its waters roar and foam over, Though the mountains rock on account of its turbulence.

Psalm 62:2,7,8

Indeed, he is my rock and my salvation, my secure refuge; I will never be greatly shaken. Upon God depends my salvation and my glory. My strong rock, my refuge, is God. Trust in him at all times, O people. Pour out your hearts before him. God is a refuge for us

Isaiah 40:29-31

He gives power to the tired one And full might to those lacking strength. Boys will tire out and grow weary, And young men will stumble and fall, But those hoping in Jehovah will regain power. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary; They will walk and not tire out.

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am mild-tempered and lowly in heart, and you will find refreshment for yourselves. For my yoke is kindly, and my load is light.”

Romanos 8:38,39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Therefore, we do not give up, but even if the man we are outside is wasting away, certainly the man we are inside is being renewed from day to day. For though the tribulation is momentary and light, it works out for us a glory that is of more and more surpassing greatnessand is everlasting; while we keep our eyes, not on the things seen, but on the things unseen. For the things seen are temporary, but the things unseen are everlasting.
